Anchor Chapter
No. 1337

Anchor Chapter Patron of the
RMTGB Festival 2006

The Holy Royal Arch is the continuation of Craft Freemasonry. A Master Mason has the opportunity to take a final step in Pure Antient Freemasonry, to progress and to learn more about Freemasonry, to meet Brethren from other Lodges, participate in another Provincial Order, and enjoy further companionship by becoming a member of the Holy Royal Arch.

In the Holy Royal Arch Degree, the Master Mason goes beyond the third degree by taking further steps along the path in search of that which was lost in the Craft. It should be a Master Mason’s wish to complete his Masonic journey and, in doing so, rediscover that which was lost and obtain a full knowledge of Pure Antient Freemasonry. In Craft Masonry, a Brother acknowledges a belief in a Supreme Being, yet this relationship is never explored. In the Royal Arch, the Master Mason continues and completes his education and knowledge of Craft Masonry and is invited to consider his relationship and dependence on God.

The Royal Arch is indissolubly linked to the Craft, and is an extension of the third degree and the completion of Pure Antient Freemasonry. Since the formation a Provincial Grand Chapter in 1854, every Provincial Grand Master has expressed his wish that all Master Masons should become members of the Holy Royal Arch. Like Craft Freemasonry, the Royal Arch is open to men of all faiths.
